Education & work history
Pharmaceutical experience
My education as pharmacist was in Utrecht, at the Rijksuniversiteit. I started as industrial pharmacist with Baxter (then Travenol) and served my military duties as production pharmacist and quality pharmacist, during that period. Baxter in the Netherlands was a start-up, in those days, and the emphasis was on product development, quality (QP) and authorization of medicines, medical devices and medical services. This field was continued at the European level with MediSense (diagnostics). After some years in a technical commercial and more general management role, I continued in regulatory affairs and quality (QP) at Pfizer. The past 12 years, I contributed to the growth and development of Eurocept Pharma, from young and small specialized distributor of medicines and medical products and medical service provider in the Netherlands, to a globally active pharma company with, next to distribution products, own products, own product development, cooperation with some 20 CMOs, own secondary packaging, custom made APIs, global regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, compliance, (international) storage and distribution. My authorizations in this period: (EU) QP, RP, DP, (EU) QPPV, RIP (Belgum).
